Why You Should Be Using Instagram Stories as a Brand Strategy

If you haven’t started Instagram Stories as part of your overall blog and brand marketing strategy, then you need to start doing so today!

Instagram Stories, can literally put your brand out to millions of people with just a few seconds of sharing either silly or very serious content. Using IG Stories strategically can help you grow your following (and your bank account), but also help take you to the next level of influencer status.

It’s a surefire way to increase your engagement

If you’ve fallen victim to decreased likes and comments due to the algorithm, don’t worry; you’re not a lone. However, with IG stories, you are actively engaged with your audience and it allows for them to engage with you as well. The increased engagement in this manner allows for you to constantly show up on the feeds of others. You also don’t have to worry about doing a story a the perfect time, unlike regular posting, because with IG Stories, people can find them anytime within the 24 hour period.

Hashtag for your life

With over 200 million users, Instagram is now the new SnapChat. This platform has grown quickly with Instagram averaging millions of people taking advantage of the stories feature daily. The best part of IG Stories is that they are “Discoverable”.

What does this mean?

Simply put, it means that even people who don’t follow you can still find you via IG Stories. Stories are active for 24 hours, and I have had the amazing luck of gaining hundreds of new followers just by utilizing the stories as part of my ‘Gram Like You Mean IT! strategy. By adding hashtags to your story users are able to find you, much like they would if you were adding hashtags to your posts.

Tag others in your niche

Don’t tag them for the sake of tagging them, but if it’s something relevant, you should definitely add the tag. This is because it will help increase your following and reach by putting you out there to others. And if it’s a major influencer you’ve tagged (maybe you are working on something they’ve recommended), they may re-share your content, or even better ask for a collaboration!

Add links

Currently, if you have more than 10,000 followers you can add links to your stories.  Don’t worry for those with less than 10,000, at first it was only released to celebs and those with over one million, so hopefully, this will be something that will be available to everyone soon enough.

If you haven’t been using Instagram Stories, I definitely encourage you to try them out. I have been using them for a few weeks now, and I am almost 100% certain it has what helped increase my followers by 1400 people in 14 days!
