For most, blogging starts out as a hobby, however, for many, it can easily turn into lucrative passive income if they want it to. Whether you choose to make money from your blog or not, it’s up to you. However, if your ultimate goal is to quit your full-time job or just make enough extra on the side for “play” money, then there are tools that you need to implement.
Here are a few ways that you can make extra income from blogging.Understand that how much you make will depend on how much time you put into it and how large your audience base is (which I can also show you how to increase).
Companies are always looking for new ways to expand their reach and gain more customers. So it is no wonder that social media influencers or bloggers have become a hot commodity. If your blog has a niche and good traffic, sponsored post can be great extra income. Writing sponsored posts for brands or products is a wonderful way to make money on your blog. With this method, the company agrees to pay you a certain amount of money for writing about their product or their brand. The downside to this is often times companies look for influencers with an already large reader base or huge social media following. However, don’t let that deter you. There are many smaller companies that are still willing to work with you just to get their name out there. When doing sponsored post, just remember to let your readers know that it is in fact sponsored.
There are many blogs that pay for bloggers to write for them. The best part about this is you can guest post before you even start your own blog. Pricing for guest posting varies, but believe it or not, there are blogs that will pay $100+ for doing so. While this may seem tedious, this is a great option if writing is truly your passion. Also, if you have a blog this is a great way to get your name out there. Depending on your niche, there are hundreds of websites that you can submit your content to, so don’t worry if you get a few rejections. If your goal is to write for the New York Times family section or HuffPost Parents, then go for it! The more you guest post, the more you can drive traffic to your own site.
For many bloggers, this can be another huge source of income. The concept works like this; if there is a product or company you love (such as Amazon), you would simply sign up to become an affiliate (some companies do have certain criteria), and it would result in you placing advertisements on your website or posting links. Whenever link or ad is clicked on you receive a certain percentage of that sale.
Do you have a talent for graphic design? Life coaching? If there is a something you are a master of, creating great digital content and a marketing the content to sell is another great way to earn income. E-books or courses are currently “in”. People love learning (it lasts a lifetime right?)So creating great content that people can use is another innovative way to earn income.
Earning income from blogging doesn’t always pan out for everyone. However, if you take the time to build up your readership, and figuring out the best ways that you can earn income from your site, it can work out for you. Do jump in and commit to various projects. When it comes to blogging always choose quality over quantity.
