4 Work-From-Home Jobs You Should Apply For-RIGHT NOW!

Today in Hustlenomics 101, I’m going to share you several work at home jobs that you can apply for.

Working from home is NOT for the faint of heart. It’s not for anyone who isn’t motivated, nor is it for anyone who feels that working from home will allow them to do whatever they want all day (i.e. running errands and stuff).

A lot of companies have strict regulations about time on the phones (and time off), so you must be careful that you don’t end up getting yourself fired.

While working from home does provide a lot of flexibility and can save you a lot of money (i.e. gas, lunch, child care if possible), it can also become difficult to separate the home/work life balance.

1. Disney Guest Services Representative

If you are as much of a Disney fanatic that I am, but you want the flexibility of being able to be at home, while being a cast member, this is the perfect job opportunity for you.

This is currently a part-time position (so it may be an ideal second job) and it is only available to residents in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Florida, and Nevada.

The position requires at least a high school diploma and here are a few other basic requirements:

  • Guest Service experience preferred and ability to demonstrate strong Guest-focused engagement over the phone and via email
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Computer proficiency including personal consumer online shopping experience, knowledge of multiple browsers including navigating websites, mobile web/mobile application experience, use of Microsoft Office Suite, and basic troubleshooting preferred
  • Demonstrated success working as a member of a team
  • Ability to receive feedback and take action as appropriate
  • Access to a reliable, high-speed Internet connection required
  • Proven ability to work in a structured environment
  • Able to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the business, including evenings, holidays and weekends

2. UHAUL Customer Service Agent

UHAUL is looking for seasonal call reservationist. I know, it’s a temporary job (10-week gig May-August), however, if you are looking to get experience with working from home this could be an ideal position for you.

This job pays $10 an hour and applicants must be at least 16 years of age (either in enrolled in high school or at least an HS diploma/GED).

This is nothing new to those who are seeking to work at home. If you are able to land a gig, then count yourself lucky.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years professional technical troubleshooting expertise or proven technical ability
  • Experience supporting customers via phone, e-mail, chat, and/or in person
  • Passion for customer service and ownership of the customer experience including comprehensive issue resolution
  • Able to effectively tailor communication and style to differing audiences
  • Able to self-manage and work independently in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Thrives on a team where expertise is shared and feedback is welcomed
  • Effective time management including ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize
  • Able to research and grasp technical information across multiple tools while talking with customers
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following is required; iOS, Smartphone, Tablet, PC or Mac experience
  • Aptitude for acquiring skills in technical troubleshooting and an eagerness to learn and take on new challenges

4. ACTIVE Network Reservation Agent

This is another seasonal position, in which agents will be helping callers place reservations at campgrounds.

Basic requirements:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, the ability to communicate remotely by phone, email and instant messaging (IM).
  • Solid computer skills including internet knowledge (such as basic searching and queries), IM, email, some basic technical terminology
  • Must be organized and self-motivated
  • Minimum typing speed of 20 to 30 wpm
  • Be able to provide a minimum of 25-29 hours of schedule availability, including weekend availability.
